Government contracting and procurement

Doing business with the government can be a challenge. After trying and failing—or experiencing excessive delay and rework—too many companies lose patience and therefore lose-out on opportunities.

J. Hollister has several years of experience as a former government Contracting Officer. He knows how and why the government contracts with private entities, and what motivates, guides and persuades government procurement officials.

Developed and led a SBIR/STTR program with multiple agencies that led to more than $50 million.
Achieved an SBIR Phase I selection rate double the typical selection rate
Obtained and managed more than $15 million in contracts with Office of Naval Research, Joint Technology Office—High Energy Lasers and the Naval Postgraduate School
Built strong relationships with Department of Energy Office of Science, Department of Homeland Security, National Nuclear Security Agency, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, and a wide number of university and overseas connections

In a word, my career has been diverse. I have held leadership roles in government, non-profit and private enterprises, and have had nearly a decade of experience in each sector. While the operational responsibilities and environments were dramatically different, one thing ties them together: Wherever I’ve been, my role has been to help organizations excel, while striving to make the world a better place.
